Frequently asked questions
Short answers about Verus, AI agent governance and audit trails.
About Verus
What is Verus?
Verus is an AI agent governance platform for banks, insurers and regulated enterprises. It records every AI decision, applies your rules before the AI acts and seals each decision in a signed certificate.
Why is it called “the black box for AI agents”?
Like a flight recorder, Verus keeps an independent, tamper-proof record that investigators can trust after the fact.
Who is Verus for?
Compliance, model risk, security, technology and internal audit teams at banks, insurers and other regulated organisations.
How it works
Do we need to change our AI models or vendors?
No. Verus works alongside the AI, models and cloud you already use.
Can a person stop an AI agent?
Yes. High-risk decisions wait for a named person, and any agent can be paused in seconds.
How does someone verify a certificate?
Each certificate carries a cryptographic fingerprint and signature. Anyone can check it without a Verus account. If the record changed, the check fails.
Regulation and compliance
Does Verus help with the EU AI Act?
Yes. It produces evidence for logging, human oversight and risk management. See EU AI Act compliance.
Does Verus help with model risk management?
Yes. It supports inventory, ongoing monitoring and change control for AI agents. See model risk management.
Is Verus a substitute for legal advice?
No. Verus produces evidence. Your obligations should be confirmed with your legal and compliance teams.
Getting started
Where do most teams start?
With one high-volume workflow, usually AML alert review.
